My Grandstream phones were very easy to configure but these 480i CT's seem to be a little more difficult. I'm using trixbox 2.0 and trying to link my 480i CT to extension 200. This is a small network with one trixbox server and one linksys WRV200 router at 192.168.1.1 that is connected to my ISP's wireless radio as a DMZ.

Re: Configuring an Aastra 480i SIP Phone

Asterisk not only supports traditional phone equipment, it enhances them with additional capabilities.

Re: Configuring an Aastra 480i SIP Phone

Asterisk is a complete PBX in software. Asterisk does voice over IP in many protocols, and can interoperate with almost all standards-based telephony equipment using relatively inexpensive hardware.

Features: Asterisk provides Voicemail services with Directory, Call Conferencing, Interactive Voice Response and Call Queuing. It has support for three-way calling, caller ID services, ADSI, SIP and H.323 (as both client and gateway).

Protocol Support: Asterisk supports a wide range of TDM protocols for the handling and transmission of voice over traditional telephony interfaces. Asterisk supports US and European standard signalling types used in standard business phone systems, allowing it to bridge between next generation voice-data integrated networks and existing infrastructure. Asterisk not only supports traditional phone equipment, it enhances them with additional capabilities.

Re: What’s new in trixbox CE 2.6.1 | Asterisk Tutorials

I am impressed with the quality and efficiency of your tutorials. I worked two days and couldn't get my 7970 going on trixbox. The part that changed it for me was your comment that newer versions of the firmware have had registration problems. That was it! I used the version you use in this tutorial and it works. I'm a little short on cash, otherwise I'd donate...Would you like my car, apartment, girlfriend in return?

Re: Configuring an Aastra 480i SIP Phone

Hi.

I just got the same phone today but am having problems. I followed your instructions to setup the account on the phone but the phone doesn't register.
No problems with the same asterisk extension using Grandstream or Cisco 7960 phones as well as eyeBeam softphone. Have you had any similar problems?

Re: Configuring an Aastra 480i SIP Phone

Thanks Kerry,

You are a genius!!!

Re: Getting Started with trixbox CE | Asterisk Tutorials

Nice job.
